Schorer’s prevention programme comprises four phases:
2007:
- organisational preparation
- four regional workshops on how to carry out needs assessments
- needs assessments carried out by the partner organisations

2008:
- continuation of needs assessments carried out by the partner organisations
- four regional workshops on how to translate the outcome of the needs assessments into prevention projects
- prevention project proposals through the end of 2010
- start of prevention activities
- organisational analysis to assist in capacity building within the partner organisations.
2009:
- further work on prevention activities
- regional workshops: partners’ experiences with planned prevention
- continuation of organisational analysis to assist in capacity building within the partner organisations
- start of capacity-building activities
- activities by partners to improve their respective local political and social contexts
- second International Expert Meeting held in the Netherlands.
2010:
- conclusion of prevention activities
- capacity building
- activities to improve the political and social context
- regional workshops: partners’ experiences with planned prevention
- local anchoring of the programme
- safeguarding the continuation of the activities.
